Economic self-sufficiency is the key to reducing recidivism and keeping the family unit intact. Be the Change 3E supports individuals who have been impacted by incarceration. Services are focused in three areas: Entrepreneurship, Education and Employment.

Individuals who have been impacted by incarceration are often forgotten in society.
Once you listen and learn their stories they are are not FORGOTTEN, they are UNFORGETTABLE.
AT A GLANCE
Be the Change 3E knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. In 2016, the "Be the Change Endowed Scholarship" was created at Grand Valley State University for students who have been impacted by incarceration.
After seeing the overwhelming need for the scholarship, additional research and a deep passion, Be the Change 3E was launched.
The mission is to empower economic self-sufficiency among
those who have been impacted by incarceration.
The focus of our initiatives are:

WHAT WE DO
Economic self-sufficiency is the key to reducing recidivism and reducing the number of individuals being incarcerated every year. Recognizing the enormity of the challenges Returning Citizens face, Be the Change 3E is dedicated to making a lasting impact through our initiatives.

-
ENTREPRENEURSHIP opportunities for Returning Citizens;
-
EDUCATION opportunities for individuals impacted by incarceration; and
-
EMPLOYMENT Resources for Returning Citizens.
In order to have lasting impact for Returning Citizens, their families and communities, there needs to be a focused effort to support, encourage and empower economic self-sufficiency.
Be the Change 3E is that organization.
